The Breaking Point

With a photoshoot looming, I knew I had to go shopping. I also knew that this was the last thing I wanted to do. I knew that I would feel deflated, frustrated, angry and sad when the clothes that I really wanted to buy and wear, didn’t fit. I was tired of having to shop at specialty stores and settle for pieces based on size versus style. I knew it was now or never to make a change.

But what was I to do that I hadn’t already done?

  • Calorie counting? Tried it.
  • Point System? Tried it.
  • High fat, low carb? Tried it.
  • High intensity work outs? Tried it.

I truly felt like I had tried all and failed each time. Was it me? Why were so many people getting the results these programs promised, but I was here still struggling?

The kicker in all of this is that I KNEW what I had to do. I studied nutrition for crying out loud. How could I not see what needed to be done? How could I expect others to trust me with their goals, if I couldn’t get myself together?

In that moment, I threw my hands up and surrendered. I finally accepted what I knew had to be done, and that is hire a professional. Yes, even professionals hire professionals.

We all have pivotal moments in our lives…

I think we all have moments in life that we can pinpoint as pivotal moments in our lives. This was the one for me that set me on my personal path of healing, rediscovery, and success.

I dedicated an entire year to my physical healing. What I found throughout this time was that in order for the physical body to heal, the mind and spirit have to follow suit. This was my big epiphany.

After losing 45 pounds, I couldn’t understand why my mind kept going back to how I used to feel. Although I was elated, energized, and feeling amazing, that little voice inside of my head kept getting louder and louder and louder telling me that this wasn’t going to last. Just like all the other times, the weight would come back. It wasn’t until I finally acknowledged that little voice and changed her story, that my results became concrete in my head, and the new habits I had adopted truly became my new lifestyle.

It was through this experience that my program was born.
